Thanks for listening. Here's a quick summary.

Main objective: Defeat Keeper Asmodeous (dungeon heart) and take gem
Sub objective:Smash Lord Ronin's armry that lies between Asmodeus and
myself

Tip: Exploit weak spot to Asmodeus's dungeon heart
Mission is timed: 45 minutes

I seem to get close each time, but with like 5 minutes left, Lord
Ronin's army is rocking my dungeon heart. In the mean time, i barely
seem to put a dent into Asmodeous's dungeon heart. I found the weak
spot mentioned in the campaign briefing and was able to breech his
heart but I can't do it in time (either lord ronin's army destroyed my
heart or I just run out of time). ANother thing I must be doing wrong,
I can't seem to attrack enough minions. The comp informs me that I can
no longer attrack new minions but it seems I'm dealing with a half
deck. Anyway, if anybody can shead some lite on this bitch of a
mission, I would be most appreciative..thanks for any help!

Can you build torture chambers in this mission? If so, killing off the
hero's and bringing them over to the Dark Side can help build up your
forces quickly.

If not, what rooms do you have available?

Kevin,

Yes, torture chamber is available. I guess the way I've played this
campaign thus far was to not stir up Lord Ronin's force and as a result,
I've only captured between 4-8 heroes. The problem occurs with like 5
minutes left in the campaign when hell breaks loose and Lord Ronin
starts attacking both Keeper Asmodeus and myself - with great numbers!
It's crazy and I can't imagine how folks beat this campaign. Before I
know it, my dungeon heart is being seiged by two dozen heroes ranging
between lvl 6-8, while my dozen or so heroes are between level 2-4.
Anyway, I'll await any tips on this sucka..thanks.

Leaving him alone probably isn't a good idea. By fighting the good
heroes you not only remove a threat, but you'll get more territory
(which means more mana) and your monsters will be more experienced.
What was the last new room type that you got access to? What's the
money situation like? Converting enemy heroes is always a good idea,
especially if you can nab the higher-level ones (although they take
longer to break). If you have the funds, you can use a training room to
get all your guys to level 4. Be sure to manually stick your doms in
there, because otherwise they'll never leave the torture room and they
become much better fighters once they get past 1st level.

Ah yes, this was one of my favorite levels of DK2. Using the following
methods, I managed to beat it with a record time of 95 minutes....

spolier space

(1) Build a dungeon and a torture chamber. Quickly expand towards the four
hero gates that are NE, NW, SE, & SW from your dungeon heart. In each case,
have someone break down the door, then wait for the heroes to come charging
out -- *don't* place your banner of war inside the room. With the battle
taking place *outside* these rooms (in your territory) your imps are able to
drag a greater number of the enemy off to the prision. Of all possible
"recruits", focus on giants to increase your production capability.

(2) Time constraints. Expand northward towards the big lake in one long,
zig-zagging corridor. Have your converted giants producing doors and/or
traps to fill this corridor. With about ten minutes remaining, break
through to the edge of the lake, then build a bridge to the southern
exterior wall of the western half of the good dungeon. Build a *huge*
wooden bridge outside that wall, place your banner of war, drop all your
creatures on the bridge, cast tremor on the wall, and tell your imps to dig
out the wall.

(3) Assaulting the goodly keep will trigger the attack on your dungeon heart
by the forces in the eastern half of the map. Your traps, doors, and the
long, long corridor to your dungeon heart will keep them busy for some time.
Use this time to eliminate all the heroes in the western half -- if you kill
them, they won't be able to attack Asmodeus' dungeon. :-)

(4) Once the battle is over in the eastern keep, pick up all your survivors
and get them into the battle raging in the middle of your dungeon. Kill the
remaining heroes, then let your creatures heal. You now have all the time
in the world to assault the rival keeper!

Thanks for the tips Dan, but a MIRACLE happened before I had a chance
to swing out here and check for any new tips. The method you outlined
is sort of what I did, but not as gracefully. I did lure the heroes
out in a manner your describe and I was able to build up a much larger
army of undead skeletons as a result. I then constantly put them in
the training room to up their experience. As this cat and mouse game
of rushing heroes off to prison took place, I erected the 'great bridge
of Asmodeus' along the western side of Ronin. Then came the hairy
spot. I finished this level with pure LUCK. I burrowed my imps
towards the weak spot of Asmodeus dungeon and popped out at a lair that
was adjacent to the dungeon heart. I then bum rushed the room with 20+
imps to occupy the room. Once I got it (seemed like forever), I
grabbed every hereo I had and put them in the room adacent to the
dungeon heart and placed my flag. As this fierce battle was going, my
dungeon heart was in a critical state when all of sudden, I saw the
enemy dungeon heart fall and the gem pop up. I took a deep sigh of
relief, drank a sip of my Corona, and said thank God I can move on.
THis has been the hardest campaign thus far for me and I'm a little
weary of what's too come. ANyway, I appreciate the feed back and tips
you gave - they all helped big time. THanks again. yarbulls

Basically, I bided my time and captured heroes. I built up a huge number of
traps. When the heroes attacked, my traps managed to deal with most of them.
With converted heroes added to my own forces, Asmodeus fell easily. ( Keep in
mind I played this one nearly a dozen times before winning. LOL)

funny, it took me exactly 12 times to beat it as well! i would have
forgotten how many times i restarted if it weren't for the little stat
provided when you loose or win a scenario. this game simply rocks -
