An UNBELIEVABLE strategy game. Totally obscure, cant find anything on
it on the web, but you can get it from the Adrenaline vault in the PCRL! list.
YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
I think this game will give Red Alert a run for its money! NO SHIT.

Distributed by EA, and designed by some company called Melbourne House. Its a
post-apocalyptic C&C type game. SVGA graphics - wolfriders with shotguns,
Monster trucks with machinegun turrets, HELL OF RAD!

Get it here:

Isn't the address here for the File Factory (http://www.filefactory.com, he
says knowingly)?

Yes...you're point being???

The file factory is a nice gimmick, but I wanted to tell people where to get
this great game, not advertise for a pop website.

Who are you working for? EA?? (the people who distribute it)...
no one I have met likes the game. The sounds are annoying and the
graphics aren't too great (except for the background which looks great).
At a network gaming event here an EA person came out with a full beta of
the game and let everyone give it a go.. didn't hold anyones interest for
more that a few minutes. If you are looking for info on it, it's made by
some Australians so there might be some web site here, I don't know.

Adam.

Working for EA??? I wish. Nope, I just saw the game as VERY VERY COOL.
Obviously downloading 5 megz is too much to ask. OK. I think that SVGA
drawn (nicely I think) shotgun, bow, and flame thrower weilding men,
MOnster trucks, wolfriders (again with shotgun "BOOM! click-click"),
Machinegun nests, Motorcycles with sidecars, GOD DAMN MECHS!!! and lots of
other VERY FUCKING COOL vehiles is a good start for a game. Add in a
non-grid based map (like warcraft was - stand on the invisible square you
MORON!) like in C&C, along with GIBS flying when a guy gets blown up and
crushed by oncoming vehicles. Along with Hotkey Grouping (which NO game
other than C&C has implemented aside from warwinds failed attempt),
multiple unit generation and CUEing (Build 5 shotgun men, game, then get
back to me) so I dont have to keep building ONE guy over and over...along
with an interface that I find SIMPLE and INTUITIVE:

MAKES FOR A RAD GAME!

So who gives a -fuck- what the Kangaroo-fuckers at that convention
thought?? Its 5 goddamn megz (oop...maybe 6...) and its definitely worth a
-look- at least!

ARGHHHH boy I guess I got worked up..hee hee....but accusing me of being a
fucking salesman riles me up!! WHOOOOO HOOO!!

Hmm. I didn't prefer the game. I was running it on a P166 and the
scrolling rate was SLOW, plus the game itself seemed to be a bit slow.
The other thing that surprised me is that the graphics for the men and
such looked somewhat low-res even though the game itself is in 640x480.

I'll give it this, though. The terrain looked pretty cool.

I like the movement in this game, and I think they got the way the units
disintegrate better than in 'Z'. The Z way looks good but it takes too long
and since things blow up exactly the same each time, it doesn't work for me.
I like the way the Scorpion things squeal as they move and I love the fact
that they mow down the infantry like a grasscatcher. Nothing worse than being
attacked by hordes of infantry in C&C and try to run them down with a heavy
unit.
I'm disappointed that the demo has no modem play to try out. Seems to me that
it probably isn't finished if they haven't got it in the demo. The Deadly
Games demo has modem play working so why doesn't this one? No mission to try
either. Still, I've found the game on it hard to play. The opposition have
heavy units very early and I haven't figured out how to build up fast enough
yet.
Getting the demo going was confusing for me. The key seems to be to remember
to use the -d command when running kknddemo.exe to unpack the game, otherwise
not all the files are there and the kknddemo folder (directory) isn't there,
so the kknd icon (kknd.exe)is missing and I kept getting an error message
until I figured this out.
Finally, since it is a dos game, it ran well on Win95 and also no problems on
OS2, just like C&C. This game isn't out yet and the local HarveyNorman
couldn't tell me when it would be, only that they had seen a demo. If it is
coming out in November as the closing screen says, they've got 3 days :)

I asked the Man in the Readme.txt when this game might be out and he said the
producer was aiming for January the 17th but no promises. Still, I finally
beat the demo :)
