I just purchased Civilization for Windows and I have a little
problem with the screen graphics. Some of the words and buttons overlap
funny. Like in the status windows, where it says 0.4.6 or something like
that, it is printed in the part of the window that is a border. God,
this is hard to explain. I run windows in 800x600 w/256 colors, which
should be fine according to the manual. Anyone else have weird screen
displays?

I don't know if this will help you, but it says somewhere in the
manual about the possibility of your video card starting up out of
sync with the game or something like that. What it basically means
for me is that when I boot up Civ all the colors are messed up and
you can't read a lot of stuff. If I quit and then restart it again
the display will be fine. Try quitting and restarting again without
exiting windows and see if that helps, if it doesn't, then I don't
know what to say...

Try using 'Small Fonts' instead of 'Large Fonts' for the resolution
seletected.

I don't know if it will work with CivWin, but 'Large Fonts' wreak havoc
on our software screens.

There's an option in one of the windows control panel things that says
use true type fonts. Make sure this is not enabled. If you disable this
feature of windows, Civ will work fine. Got that from Microprose and
it did work.
