Does anyone have a sure-fire way to stop MtP - a pretty good game WHEN
IT'S WORKING:
a. slowing down to seriously slow
b. crashing out after sweeping mouse moves
c. Up and dying and/or locking up
Running Windows 95 release version [?build 950], 486-DX4-100, 12 Mb RAM,
Logitech mouse {with, I think, v 6.20 driver}, 604Kb free + 11 Mb odd XMS
available in DOS box, SB16 and Cirrus video. No other MSDOS application
is giving me any grief at all!
Microprose were distinctly unhelpful - in fact, couldn't give a toss on
the phone - "we don't say that it'll work with Windows 95, so be grateful
that it almost does". Yeah, thanks a lot, matey girl, great corporate
image there.....
Don't bother phoning, E-mailing or accessing the MPS BBS, they've got
your money, why should they even bother being polite when they tell you
they can't help you?
Answers by E-mail, please, let's save Usenet bandwidth, eh?

>Ladies/Gentlemen:
Henrik,
I see two possible problems here: 1. You are still using a beta-build of
Win95, which, even though relatively clean, still has problems with running
DOS games.
2. Running in a DOS Window. With Machiavelli, you need to reboot into
MS_DOS mode to play the game.

3.Have you patched the game to V 1.1?
4.Hey Tim checked with Hercules on that video problem with Machiavelli
and they said tech support has no recollection of Microprose contacting
them about it as you told me.What gives?

>: Henrik,
Hi,
Don't know, because we contacted both Hercules and Matrox about problems
with their cards-- although we talked with their test departments, not
customer service.
