Hi all,

i think i broke mission 14.... instead of taking the slow way in, i
slowly moved my entire fleet across space, through the sensor perimeter,
right up to the Naggarok... IIRC, the mission objective was to get a
mimic to the Naggarok, but when i make a mimic and send it as close as
possible (there is no 'z' click ability available) and nothing
happens.... i even killed all the proximity sensors just to be sure, and
still nothing

can someone pls tell me what the heck am i supposed to do to finish this
mission

thanks in advance for any replies

W.

You broke it, restart at the beginning. Send in fighters to
destroy the sensors, than send in only the MIMIC disguised as an enemy
ship. You will continue from than on.

Hi, Wurm

What I have done was to send a group of Acolytes (20 should be enough)
directly to sensor ring and started destroying sensor one by one moving my
group all the way around. That shouldn't be a problem since 20 Acolytes
would destroy a prox sensor in no time. Sensor map in Cataclysm has been
greatly improved and you should use that to your advantage. Go to sensor
map and move your group from one prox sensor to another - you can issue
attack orders without leaving the sensor map. Just choose your group (hot-
key 1) and band-box first prox sensor while holding Ctrlr key down. There
are some enemy groups patroling the area but don't be concerned about
that - your fighters are fast enough if used properly.
Your main force consisted of at least 4 Destroyers and 5 Multi-beam
fregates should be positioned some 20 kms in front of your Mothership.
Aditional group of 20 Acolytes might get handy for quick disposal of
cruise missiles. Waves after waves of enemy ships will attack you from
dead-ahead and front left. Concentrate fire of all of your ships at one
target at time targeting most powerful ship first. By Alt band-boxing red
dots on sensor map you can see what is coming at you and choose right
targets. Destroy cruise missiles first since they are the greatest threat
to your capital ships. Hold your home base and let enemy get close to you.
Have one Mimic ship ready and when there are no enemy ships visible on the
map turn it into enemy attack bomber and send it towards yellow blip - the
Naggarok. When it gets close enough to the Naggarok it will dock
automatically. How close that is I'm not sure but should be no problem.
After this you will have to capture one Imperial capital or super-capital
ship. Just assign a group of 5 workers (to be on a safe side) and order
them to capture one ship. In my case that was one lonely Destroyer and
capturing it was no problem at all. Ofcourse, in order to be captured
enemy ship must be dammaged first so keep an eye on your salvaging group
When they start to latch on dammaged ship do not call your attacking ships
off or they cold destroy it. Now destroy the remaining enemy ships and
that would be it.

Have fun :)
