I can't imagine you will find many who disagree. I think, for some reason,
they purposely got the goofiest looking actors to to the portraits for MM6,
which made it doubly bad. I can see the point of taking the savings (the
difference between the cost of hiring actors and artists) and pouring it
into the game. But only if they take the serious approach and get some
tough/heroic looking lads and lasses for the portraits.

Couldn't agree more QD, the biggest disappointment I had with M+M6 was
the portraits, far too Lands of Lore 2. I hope this is a decison that
isn't set in stone.

Geez. Somebody send NWC a copy of Poser 2 and Detailer so that they
can come up with some decent scratch-built portraits. The last
renaissance faire I went to had more realistic looking actors than the
ones they managed to scrape up for M&M6!

Of course I agree, I prefer the hand-drawn portraits as well. I can't
imagine why NWC decided to drop them in favour of digitised photos in
the first place, did anyone actually demand that? What's up there?

I kinda like the pictures.

I could be wrong, but I seem to recall some sort of contest they had (maybe
after MM5?) with the winners getting their portraits in the next game. If
this was the case, it explains everything.

This is why Street Fighter II was so much better than Mortal Kombat.

Ummm...I kinda like them too. C'mon, the M&M series has always been a
little cheezy. The portraits are the MM6 contribution to the cheezy and
somewhat tongue in cheek air of the previous games in the series.

Heh heh. I have to vote against the lame pictures also.

If the faces in MM6 are those of the winners then I don't want to know
how the losers would have looked like! (sorry, couldn't resist...)
