Um...you can try to take it back and try to exchange it...but that's it.....
You want CIV2, Multiplayer Gold Edition

One of these two sites should have a graphics mod-pack that will restore
Civ2-style terrains and units. For wonder movies, the throne room, and
advisors, you need to buy an older version.

Sorry but TOT is a notorious disgrace: no advisers, no throne room, no
wonder videos and no point.
PS. Your also right about the graphics, they arn't as sharp as Civ 2's.
*BIG LAUGH* *sarcasm noted*
Oh hell, just buy CIV3, it will probably be easier...

I can't understand why anyone thinks this.

Three extra versions of the game? Alpha Centauri, Sci-Fi world and Fantasy
world.

You did, well the same game anyway, just without the frills.

They are the same, but the graphics have been "improved", they're 16-bit
rather than 8-bit.

True. I don't know why they left them out, but they're not essential to the
game, hardly ever looked at them myself.

In terms of resolution, the graphics are exactly the same size. However the
original graphics use a much smaller range of colours, so they stand out
more. They've used more colours in TOT in order to get a more realistic
"blend". Unfortunately they blend too much, and the units blend in to the
terrain. The units could do with being "sharpened" like you'd do to a photo
in a graphics program.
You can get sharpened and original versions of the graphics here;
http://coc.apolyton.net/graphics/terrain.shtml
Be sure to get the patch too;
http://coc.apolyton.net/utilities/index.shtml
Although the frills have been left out, you do get three extra variations of
the game, in addition to the original, so in terms of gameplay it's much
better value for money.

Fair enough.

Get the graphics updates from the sites that were mentioned, they restore
the original graphics.

Strategy is all in the mind.
lol
Why not just buy the original, then you'll get videos, advisers, throne
room, clearer graphics and a ton and a half of users made mods and
scenarios.

Irrelevant frills. Fun and first but pointless once the novelty wears off.

See above.

That's a good point. But you can also get mods and scenarios for Test of
Time that use the new features, like multi-layered maps and different
terrain, units etc. Room for lots more user-defined units too.

Frills? No, these affect gameplay. Not frills. That said, both TOT
and Civ2Gold are cheap. Get both.
