I just finished playing the 2 scenarios that come with the MTW2 demo.
The graphics are much improved, but because the two scenarios are only
battle scenarios (Battle of Pavia and Agincourt), it is difficult to
get a good feeling for the strategy part of the game. One can only
presume that it is similar to Rome total War.

The demo is about 500 mb, but I was lucky to download it in less han
half an hour.I think it was from Gamershell.

As in the previous versions of this game, I find it a but dificult to
run the battle efficiently, and in RTW etc I usually let the AI run
the bvattles and concentrate on the strategy aspect of the game - but
that is only my personal preference.

There ARE a number of speeds in the game, but even the slowest is a
bit fast when there are a lot of units. You can pause the game, but it
is unclear if I can give orderrs during the pause - probably yes.

The demo says that it may not be representative of the game, so one
can expect a more complete demo sometikme in the future.

Not to worry. I expect that a 'Medieval: Total Realism' mod will surface
to fix all that.

Do you think a Total Realism mod will fix any problems with the engine?
I expect it will fix the stats of units, but I doubt it'll do anything
about the speed the game runs on, unless it's really broken.

Anyway, in MTW1 you could pause the game to give orders, I expect the
same will be true here.

The strategy aspect of the game will probably have added complexity but
the battles on the map may be more fun as well.

In RTW you could change the speed of the units by simply editing a textfile,
it should be the same for MTW2 (well, I hope so, I don't have the demo
installed anymore to check, but at least I could get rid of those awful
green arrow markers in the same way as in RTW). That's the only problem I
saw regarding the speed of the demo battles - slow the units down a bit and
the battles will be a lot easier to manage.

Sure is. Truth to tell I rarely if ever pause the game (Rome: Total Realism)
thanks to the reduced speed of the units.
