I am after a tutorial but can't find one on the net. Can anyone help with this ???
Which part are you finding difficult?
Campaigns should be played in this order
Empire - Undead - Mountain Clans - Devil Race - Rise of the Elves
First thing.... Never go Theif lord, as you will never get the main
benifit from it. Warrior lords only good point is that he heals 15%
per turn (Rather than normal 5%). In this game, you should be near
castles, have healing potions, or even healing spells so the warrior
lord is useless. Mage lord is very good as your attacks hit everyone
in a battle, and every global spell can be cast upto twice.
If you are on empire, get your mage lord in back row, squire in front
and a healer in backrow. Always take leadership from levelups, and
REMEMBER the diffrence between items/skills that effect the leader,
and those that effect the party.
The best overall leader is a mage lord because he gets 2 spell attacks
per turn. They can be devastating.
For heroes, mages are good if you are going to take them through a
campaign, as they get very strong at higher levels. If you want a
hero who is going to last through one scenario, a warrior hero is the
best.
I agree that leadership is a great skill to get on levelups, because
it allows you to have an extra member of your party, but the problem
is that it's not available for a long while. In the meantime, get
pathfinding to increase your speed, and get skills to be able to use
banners and talismans. Never waste your money and/or levels on orbs -
your hero can only use them in combat and they take up an entire turn.
The results are almost never as good as what you could achieve by
attacking with your own skills.
Another thing to remember during combat is that you should always try
to take out enemies as soon as possible, rather than spreading out
your attacks among several of them. An enemy with 1 hit point left is
just as dangerous as one with all his hit points.
One final thing that a newbie should remember. Your heroes and their
parties are very weak at the start of a scenario. You must fight all
the low level creatures you can to build up your heroes and fighters,
or you will never be able to win.
Good writeup, I think I should also mention that the First Strike
Skill should be taken as soon as possible. You cannot beleive how
useful it is to have a mage lord (Who must be powerful by the time you
get the First Strike option) having the first attack on virtually
every enemy.
