Anybody tried this? I know I should upgrade, but VisualC++ runs
fine on my dinosaur so I'm resisting the upgrade urge.

Yes, I have successfully run StarCraft on a Hewlett Packard 486 dx100mhz
machine with only 24 megs of ram. It even ran on b.net with only a 28.8
modem. However, it was definately laggy and choppy as compared to my
P2-266mhz with 80 megs of ram...

I beg to differ... I have successfully run SC and a 486 dx100 pc with 24
megs of ram. It is a bit choppy but it will run....

It won't? Are you certain?

I have been successfully running StarCraft on a 486DX66 with 20 megs
of RAM, with absolutely no problem.

In multiplayer at home we play it on a 486 66MHz, 16MB.
It is playable, especially if you're not used to playing it on
the faster machine. :-) I assume it would play the same in
single player, but, I haven't tried single player on the 486.
