Here is the readme file that is included with the patch that details the
changes & corrections made.

to me. Instead, e-mail to newwo...@aol.com.

Thanks,

=================================

Please read all the sections before you proceed with the installation
procedure.

4. Running under Windows 95

*****************************************************************************

1. Improvements

Improves compatibility with certain sound & memory configurations.
Resolves dialing problems with certain modems.

*****************************************************************************

2. Installing The Patch

In order for the new exe to run properly, you must have
Heroes of Might & Magic installed on your hard drive.
Copy the 3 patch files (PATCH.RTP, PATCH.RTD and PATCH.EXE
to the Heroes directory (i.e. c:\Heroes).

Type

PATCH <enter>

The patch should process automatically. The only visible indication of
a change is that the opening text will now read

Loading Heroes of Might and Magic (v1.1)...

You are now ready to go. Have fun!!!

*****************************************************************************

3. Running under DOS

DOS users are still encouraged to disable EMM386 when running Heroes.

To do so:

1. Type EMM386 OFF at your command prompt

If EMM386 reports InActive then Heroes should run properly.

Note: You will need to type EMM386 OFF everytime you reboot
your computer.

or 2. Try REMing out EMM386 in your CONFIG.SYS:

type the following at your command prompt and hit ENTER.

EDIT C:\CONFIG.SYS

(This will edit your system configuration)

find the line

DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE

or the like and add to the front of the line REM ... i.e.

REM DEVICE=C:\DOS\EMM386.EXE

go to the File Menu and Select Exit and answer YES to save
the changes.

If you need to re-install EMM386 for any reason you can remove
the REM at the front of the line.

You will need to re-boot your computer for this change to take
effect.

*****************************************************************************

4. Running under Windows 95

While Heroes of Might and Magic should run fine on most Windows 95
setups, if you have problems, try running Windows 95 in MS-DOS mode.

To do so, in Windows 95, click on

Start - ShutDown - Restart the Computer in MS-DOS mode.
