Love this game. Running into some serious difficulty with this
scenario. Anybody been able to pull off a brilliant or regular
victory yet? All I've gotten so far is a tactical. Any winning hints
would be appreciated.

This is a classic Blitzkrieg scenario. You need to quickly
break through the French line at Sedan and try and get to the other
three objective cities as quickly as possible. DO NOT try and capture
every city along the way, it will only slow you down. Only take a
city if it is convenient, like if there is an open city an the at or
near the end of a units movement range, e.g.. What I do is divide my
forces into two groups. After Sedan falls one heads south then west
towards the southern most objective city, the other then heads west
then north to the remaining two. If you have one, use a recon unit or
two to scout ahead, make sure the way is clear. The French army will
began to arrive on the southern edge of the map after a few turns.
This is only a minor problem, you forward divisons can ignore then and
keep heading towards their objectives. I usally leave one infantry
unit in Sedan to hold them off until I can finish the sceniaro
(learned this one the hard way :-) ). Good luck.

Figured it out last night finally!!! I found out a quick way to make
it to all the objectives. I set up all my forces to the north besides
one pioneer and one PzIIIe which were located next to the closest
objective on startup. This way only one river had to be crossed and
most of the defenders could be bypassed. Took the two objectives to
the north right away and then rearmed and refueled my units before the
final push to the far southern objective. Meanwhile, the PzIIIe and
the pioneer captured as many extra cities in the middle as possible.
Had fair weather on the last day possible for the brilliant victory
conditions and used my stukas to soften up the defenders to the south
and rolled on in just in time. Now onto Dunkirk.

Shit, if that is true, no wonder I'm have a hard time (well, doing pretty
well still with brilliant victories so far... but barely) ... when I keep
hearing people claiming it was easy. I run into supply problems immediately
as the battle begins usually with less than 600 prestige.... I thought that
was weird, since I intended to play on the easy side to get an initial feel.
At the end of every battle, i've barely lived through it with almost all my
troops counting less than 5 out of 10 power points.

By the way, anyone know of game editor for PGII??? Or is it still too early?

Good battle! Just had my first look at Sedan and Dunkirk. The game is still
fairly easy, but after starting with 4 straight "brilliant victories", it
was "nice" to only get normal victories. However, I only missed a brilliant
by one turn in each of these last two battles. I'm off to N.Africa for more
action and hopefully more challenge. It would be a shame if the Blitzkrieg
Campaign is too easy and Defending the Reich too hard, because I really
didn't want to be the Allies... It's something to do with playing a game
called "PANZER (not Armor/Armour) GENERAL" ;-).

Received email from another PzGenII player, about the prestige working
incorrectly (paraphrased: when prestige is moved from the default 100 to 50
it made the game harder and it should be easier). I haven't verified that
yet, however, that sounds like it's working fine. My understanding is that
a 50 prestige will give the player 50% of the normal prestige allotment, a
setting of 250 will give you 2.5 times as much prestige. It does appear to
work correctly in the battle editor, but I've been playing on the default
level so far. Anyone have similar problems?

Just a quick update: email from SSI said the "prestige dialer" problem is
being taken to the Associate Producer for PG2.

No. PzGenII isn't as detailed as Steel Panthers for example is and while it
does model different equipment, it doesn't model any command and control
structure, basically you are the command and control.

You should be OK if you just used the default settings, but if you were
planning on setting the campaign up to be a little easier the first time
through (and turned the prestige dial to 50) then you actually cut your own
prestige in half. The easiest setting is 300... even though the icon
indicates it changes the computer's prestige,
it changes the human player's prestige. I don't think SSI intended there to
be only one level of greater difficulty and many levels easier than the
default settings. But at
least it appears to work the intended way all other times. For many players
it may not be significant (?), but hopefully this will still get corrected
in the future.

I will try this approach now. I had regular victory last night.
