Allright, this campaign is driving me nuts; Voices of Babylon, Holy Man:

I have tried like 60 times to make this scenerio work, but I cant even get past the stone age; my
priest gets killed after I convert about 10 villagers, then ax men and bow men come in and destroy
me; the best I can do with resources is 200 food, 200 wood; what is the best way to get a foot hold
in this one?

Thanks,

Tony

You need to head East across the landbridge where you will come across the
Akkadians who are more friendly . You will see a villager as you enter the
eastern plain, get your priest to start chanting and convert him. Then start
to build a town centre and build up from there.

Best of luck

This worked for me.

I went to the village to the east and converted peasants ASAP. When
the Red group came with their Axe men, I attacked with my peasants
while trying to convert Axeman with my priest. I lose peasants, but
they keep the axemen from getting to the priest and I'm normally am
able to bag an Axeman. I heal everybody up, and repeat. I am
normally able to build a small defense force while I am converting all
the yellow peasants to my side. Eventually I build towers at the land
bridge and build my civilization and then maul the reds.

Hope this Helps.

Tony,

What I did was that as soon as I was able to after converting a villager I
built a town center, in this way if your preist gets killed you still have a
way to make more villagers.
If you wanna try the cheat route you could always use "hoyohoyo" which give
you a super priest.

Hope this helps.

There were very good advices here earlier, I'll just add my 2 cents:
in order to slow down the red axemen give them something to hack at -
build a few houses and maybe barracks along their way to your base.
The'll stop to destroy the buildings and this will give you some time to
prepare yourself better (as well as an early warning that an attack is
coming).
By the way, don't concentrate your buildings too much: there is a gold and
stone mine to the north of the yellow village, send a few villagers there and
build a storage pit by the mines.
Since you are converting villagers instead of creating them you have some
food to spend on clubmen (yes, you need them) and to advance to Tool
earlier. Once in tool, tower off your base (3-4 towers should be enough)
and advance to the river. If you manage to build a dock and hold it for
some time (against enemy scout ships) your own scout ships can work as
towers for guarding the river crossing.

Good luck, you'll need it!
