The HardBall 6.03 patch is now ready but Accolade's web site hasn't
been updated yet. For a limited time, I've made the patch available
for you here:

http://www.mindspan.com/mindspan/HB6PATCH.EXE (3.3MB)

This patch will allow you to play internet games with people who buy
the HardBall 6 2000 Edition which is hitting store shelves right now.

Here's what it includes:

1) End of season 1998 stats, current 1999 rosters and 1999 game
schedule.
2) We have fixed two bugs: Players no longer disappear for a few years
when they are released from a team. There are more walks (it's still
not perfect, but it is improved).
3) Everything that the 6.01 and 6.02 patches added or fixed.

This update has nothing to do with HardBall 7. I'm not presently
working on HardBall 7 and I don't know what Accolade has planned. I'm
still taking some time off from work, with the exception of taking the
time to help make this update happen.

Mike,

You came on last year and promised owners of HB6 a patch. Then of course
the whole fiasco blew up in Accolaims face when the patch was scraped for
whatever reason....Now there in fact is a patch available a year later,
why wasn't this patch released last season and the roster update released
this year as a stand alone, what gives????

Best,

Barry

Last September there was lots of discussion over this very topic. We
released two patches last spring (6.01 and 6.02). The big one that
everyone wanted and that we were working on did not get finished for
reasons I don't want to go into again (try dejanews if you're
interested).

Hey Mike, can u tell me any kinds of hard feelings between u and the
company? I'd assume that there was something, because you're new release
seem just too ridiculous to me, and any other baseball sim gamers I believe.

LOL! Hey mike, why you left players ratings the same. NOW THATS FUNNY!
You gonna patch that? LOL!

So I guess this is the "big one" that was supposed to be released last
year. Seems to me that this could have been released last year, unless
it took a whole year for Accolaim to complete the patch. Or is this a
patch that was just worked on recently? Eithier way why release this
now, when it could in fact have been released last season?

LOL! Hey guess what? You're WRONG! There *has* been some adjustments. (To
be fair, though, not many.) And besides, I thought you weren't gonna
download the darned thing. At least be consistent.

No, the 'big one' that I was working on had a list of about 15 things
I wanted to change. This release only fixed two things and added the
1999 stuff.

No hard feelings whatsoever. I've just been taking a break from this
work. This release was not at all targetted at the 'baseball sim
gamers'.

Post proof or retract billy . WHERE DID I SAY I WOULD NOT DOWNLOAD IT?
You go play hb6 and then come back and search for that proof. I reveiwed it
dummy. The player ratings that you say have changed do not help at all from
what I read. You must be the one who dragged benna back after he
disapeared, after we said what a bullshit story patch2 was going to be. You
keep sticking up for him and it's getting pathetic. I have read this group
for around a year, and I see no one agrees with you about benna. Go find
the post where I said I will not try the shit patch. I payed for this trash
a year ago, the patch is too little too late. Benna be gone. Billy post
proof.

My god you people are assholes, its a freakin patch, not the cure for AIDS.You
payed what like 50 bucks at the most for the game.Let it go and find a better
game.Spoiled, that all you people are,you do relize that the only game that you
play w/out problems are console games.Makes you wonder where all of the
company's resources are going to.Obviously not PC games.

Now its time for all of you wonderous people to give me hell for sticking up
for Mike B.
No one is perfect, not even you reading this post.

Okay, I guess it was some other guy who said that. But then you should have
followed your own advice and researched further before you came to the
conclusion that nothing was changed in the player ratings. So there. Two
people can play that game. And I'm sure that you could find something wrong
with every single post here if you looked hard enough.

LOL!

I was told that by someone, and from what I see he is right. You post how
many players ratings were changed. You said you see 1 walk or less per 9
innings, so mike is a liar again. ROTFLMAO!

So there. Two

About hardball6 being playable? Yes. Every single post? Nah.
