onto consoles and leave pc's no choice for reflex-driven sports gamers.
At about this time of the year in the years past, people were flocking about
finding inquiring rumoring announcing about 3 or 4 different choices of our
favorite baseball games to be released in late March.
People would start popping around everywhere in this NG, about the latest
announcement of High Heat baseball game, sometimes our good friend
well-known magazine sports game reviewer Bill Abner would show up and get
involved about highheat mongering. Dave Dial, Jason Weishisname.....
Ahh, the memories that sadly gone perhaps forever.... uphoping :_(

Although I still do the vast majority of my gaming on the PC, but for sports
games it has become a necessity to get a console. I went with the XBox 360
because the PS3 didn't have the NCAA football franchise. I still enjoy the
occassional sports management game (like Eastside Hockey or OOTP), but even
if you were just a Madden or NBA player (and I'm not), you get a port of
last season's console version for the PC. For a while there, I stuck with
the NHL franchise on the PC because it had the European leagues (which I
enjoy), but now the consoles even get that so no reason to get that game on
PC, either. And as a bonus, I won't have to wait 6 months or more for the
port of the latest GTA to come to PC.

It was the only reason why I finally got a console. Sports gaming is
something I seem to need for breathing. I went with Xbox 360 and can't wait
for MLB 2K8 to come out. I'm still enjoying MLB 2K7 and APF 2K8 quite a
bit.

I had some fun with MLB 2K7, but I got bored with it fairly quickly. I'm
just not a huge baseball fan. I did spend a lot of time on APF 2K8. That
was a nice start to the franchise, but it was really missing some key
features it needs to take the next step forward. Mainly a career mode. And
the graphics need to be updated. But I did enjoy the gameplay. The AI
defense could actually put up a fight. Hopefully, it sold enough to
continue, since I did notice it was reduced in price pretty quickly. I'm
just now (finally broke down and bought it) getting into NCAA 2K8.
