actually, getting 4 "commerical releases" out of one basic kernal, kinda makes
good business sense.. too bad his coding, marketing and customer service skills
are so lame! =P
Wow. The only game out there with a half life. Except Half Life of course!
Depending on the context, I'm sure that you're correct.

Yes it is true that it is wise and thrifty to reuse software whenever possible.
Except BC3K 1.0 fully patched was essentially the same as BC3K 2.0 and BCM:G is
essentially the same as BCM with the addition of multiplayer which was promised
in BCM but never delivered. So that is really 2 titles not 4. Other developers
don't claim that a "Gold" release is a new title. Heck if that were the case
then I've seen a half dozen different "titles" all called Heroes of Might and
Magic 2. Actually in the past (IIRC) Derek tried to say that BC3K 2.0 was 3 or 4
releases because he had different distributers for the USA, Europe, Asia, and
somplace else (Australia?)

Crack ?
It was wise words but I'm not sure it was really self effacing though. It was
just the truth.
The good folks over at QTT, obviously are not the least bit interested in what I
have to say. I participate in Derek's Flame War Follies for personal amusement.
Now I do believe that academic fraud is disgusting but I do (did) enjoy
convincing others that Derek was in fact an academic fraud simply because of
Derek's amusing reaction.
>So that is really 2 titles not 4.
well actually, it's just ONE title with multiple patches and a
graphics/Direct3D update along with a few minor game tweaks... =P
If that means meth then, it would sure explain alot.

publicity at all. real smart, and i do hope you figure out what a
waste of time this all is over a total crap game by a complete idiot.
Hell, you're probably Derek Smart himself. I'm pretty freakin certain
of that...i mean, no one in their right mind would devote so much time

You really ARE his biggest fan. psycho stalker more like it, but
really, i'm posting this cause i don't care anymore because it's

The first step to wisdom is knowing that you don't know.

FWIW, this is not an original assertion.

What, there is an easter egg in BCM that exposes all?

I'm happy to serve.
I still think he's Derek.

Yup. No doubt about it.
If he isn't, he should be.
Bret
There is absolutely no way Major is Derek Bill. He just would not be
capable of rubbishing his own baby like that.
br d
He can't be Derek because he's mostly right.
How on earth do you know FLY? You got a Major to English dictionary?
br d
I thought that I already posted proof that Majorfreak uses an ISP in Canada.
This should make it obvious that Derek is making long distance calls to Canada
just so he can trick you.
Sometimes he forgets. God bless him ... sometimes he forgets.
But ... Derek always was "mostly right". It was just that when he is
wrong, he is so spectacularly wrong. That's what makes him so much
fun.
I bet he even thinks the "War Against Iraq" is a good idea.
I wonder where he'll be in the "War Against Syria".
Don't bother to answer -- you are already deep inside my killphilter.
Jackass.
It's *not* the "War Against Iraq," genius-boy. It's "Operation Iraqi
Freedom." Lots of time and effort has gone into this title -- the least
you could do it try to remember it. Hell, we even had posters and
special stationery printed.
> I wonder where he'll be in the "War Against Syria".
That'll be a tough sell. "Operation Syriaqi Freedom" would have low
brand-name recognition. Also, "Syria" sounds kinda like 'syrup' . . .
just not evil enough. Do you think we could get them to change their
name to something like "Nazi Germany?"

hey, I thought everyone who bought BCM was supposed to get a major discount on
BCM-G , but I haven't read anything about it on the 3000AD forums...or anywhere
else for that matter..
u seen anything yet?
And I thought the multiplayer patch (called BCM Gold) was supposed to
be free!!!
Oh christ knows Shin, i've lost touch with all that. To be honest, I
don't really take any notice of all the different versions and stuff
any more, that's why I didn't even know about the last few patches.
I don't even know what BCM-G is. BCM with Multiplayer? I recall paying
a fee to upgrade the first version (a tenner I think), so I presume
Derek will run something similar. If it's just going to be the exact
same game with Multiplayer added then I agree with the people who say
it should be free, because as far as I remember, Multiplayer was
promised as a follow up patch. I imagine it'll have different features
included though, to justify another price tag. Anyway, i've long since
lost the reg number or whatever it was that came with BCM so I won't
have proof of purchase.
I hate fucking Pixan :)
I can't relax knowing that bastard is out there right on my doorstep
and there's nothing I can do about it, it's just laughing at me. My
latest wheeze is to load up my FC's with vagrants, jump in FC1 and
drag us all out for some hunting. Pixan, of course, wiped us all out
without breaking sweat, but i've had a lot of good results against
enemy fleets out at Sirius.
Do you know what I did yesterday? I am such a wanker. I took out all
the FC's, but after a lot of fighting a couple of them stopped
responding to orders. I wanted to keep all the EP's i'd earned so I
called out the CC and docked, then went and tractored them in only to
find the crews dead, 2 pilots 2 co-pilots. I went back to Galcom,
cloned them, and spent ages repairing all my damaged craft and
stocking up on stuff again. I suppose the whole exercise took about 2
hours. I logged out of the station, and just as I was about to save
the game, I noticed a little lump of dried gunk on the keyboard (food
or something), so I picked it off. It was the Windows menu key and it
dumped me straight out to the desktop! The game carried on in the
background but when I tried to switch back to it, it just crashed!
Two hours shot! Down the drain!
Apart from trying to switch out (which it hates), the game's still
solid, no crashes at all.

Noted. I'll try to remember next time. But since I'm a fuddle-headed

It's a fair cop. I'd best go back to enjoying the fireworks.
Over on QT3 thread that I pointed to in the first post of this thread, Derek
ranted about all the huge new features that are in BCM:G that make it
essentially a new title.
http://www.quartertothree.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=62078&highlight=#62078
Without looking (IIRC) it included, multiplayer, mouse instead of joystick
option (like FL), and more barren planets.
