I don't think it's in a chest but out in the open...

You get the co-ordinates of your current location when you access the
map ("M").

I found it in a chest on the hill south and to the east of the 'Main Hill'.

Actually, I found it once, somehow lost it, and then when the Barrow
Downs respawned, found it in a chest after getting off one of the triple
bridges.
