The original version (2.1?) with just a dungeon is better IMO.
The sad thing is that when you use TK, you can never go back to ANSI...

I'd given up on the rogue-family games long ago because even the Win32
versions had insisted on sticking with ASCII characters or minuscule font
graphics. The TK variation is a very welcome enhancement. Cheers to the
author.

What is the difference between AngbandTK, KangbandTK, OangbandTK and
ZangbandTK?

Stay cool, daddio.
K/O/Zanband are all variations of the classic Angband. Some add skill
systems, or more classes, or etc..
I don't know what the exact differentiations are. I just know that they
are variants of the original.

It's in the Angband FAQ: <URL:http://www.phial.com/angband/angfaq1.html#10>

It relates to some sort of graphics interface engine that is used by the TK
variants.

The font graphics were usually okay on the Amiga versions. I was disappointed
with the PC versions also, until TK.

So you never tried DOS Angband with the Bolt tileset (which predated
TK)? Ben's original tileset wasn't half bad, either.

The "original" tile set (8x8 pixels, 16 colours) was drawn by James Larimer
and Thomas H. Davies, and first appeared in CWM Moria for Amiga.

Whoopsie. I was always under the impression that the tileset that's
in the stock Angband was done by Ben.
I did try a version with this option, and it did not impress me greatly.
Maybe it's just me...
