Stonekeep's not too hard. Just be well prepared (eg, healing and curing
potions/items or the spells with manna restore potions). If you're
almost at level 5, you might want to hang around in a town a few more
days running errands--those jobs do give you experience as well as a
bit of gold--upgrade your spell arsenal and then head off.
I used those jobs to run my character from 4th to 8th level before
embarking on the main quest, but then I was a sorceror...very
difficult to play in low levels, but can stomp all butt in the higher
ones.
Good luck,
Melissa

1) Go on a lot Oghma(?) Infinium quests. They're a great way to raise your
attributes and you will spend a lot of time in dungeons which leads me to my
next point
2) If you need money go into the dungeons and pick up lots of magic artifacts
to sell. I found this to be the best way to get money.
They're is a detailed FAQ with lots of info somewhrere out there, I got mine
from CompuServe. Check around.
Good luck,

I've got a nice tip for you, if you're playing a spellthrowin char.
that is:
Get the two spells stun and poison, or make them yourself:
stun
----
distance spell
make target immobile for n number of rounds. (as many as you can
afford re. spell points and gold)
poison
------
distance spell
target loses n number of hitpoints on n number of rounds. (again as
many hit points for as many rounds as possible)
Now, just cast stun to make the opponent immobile, then cast poison
and watch them die!
After the fourth or fifth staff piece I got so bored I cheated this
little spell so that the poison spell caused 99 hitpoints of harm for
99 rounds, all for the affordable 1 spell point! With these two spells
you can CONQUER THE WORLD <mad laughter>.
Sven
you don't have to cheat, just make the following two spells
create shield for 25, 50 or 99 hit points per level, whatever you can
cast.
absorb spell points for 7, 6, 5 4 percent per level depending on what
level for as long as you can cast.
add light for same amount of time, so you can see when it's worn off.
and damage for 25 per level, magic based, at range, area at range
plan: cast sheild in inn. rest till healed. go to dungeon cast
absorbtion: alternate between the two and you can go through any
dungeon without stopping to sleep
other tricks:
repair your special items and you can ask people for new ones, it's
even possible to get two of the same, though you can only eqip one, so
it'll do you no good.
request quests until get the infintujm orghum
do this till you feel your character is adequate
though this works great it takes out most of the fun out of the game.
but its a lot of fun watching every high level creature try to hurt
you with their spells while you just absorb thier mana, and when
you're full, just blast them with one spell using thier mana.
