So I've managed to stop Izbelah from casting her spell, on the 4th
reload, and been summoned to the Ice Temple to return Nickademus'
favour. All is well as I go round slaughtering fiends left, right and
centre, until I run into Nickademus in the lightning generator room,
and for some reason he's turned hostile?
Is this supposed to happen? I'm presuming not, since the game ends if
you kill him. Anyone else encounter this?
I tried looking at Black Isle's boards, but with their search
function disabled, it's nigh on impossible to find anything relevant.
Plus I'll have to patch up to 2.01, if there's no workaround, as he's
still a critical character otherwise, and I don't want to do that
until the no-cd for it is released.

Did you steal from his cabinet?

I did. I reloaded and was conservative with my fireballs---> problem solved.
Which one is his cabinet? But no, didn't take anything within sight of
him.
However, I reloaded and the problem just went away. He then invited me to
loot the place; at least, that's what I took his "don't leave anything
behind" comment to mean. >;)

It's the one next to his bed. I tried to take something from there once with
him out of sight, and he still turned hostile.
Typical. Bloody NPCs with second sight.

Talk to the painting after killing the last of the priestesses, the one that
made the battle squares room.
