Help on The Elder Scrolls: Arena needed!!!

I have a problem with TES: Arena. I'm playing a level 17 warrior and
searching the fifth piece of the staff of chaos. I entered the Chrystal
Tower and made it to the magically locked door with the fire daemon behind
but I can't find a way how to open this door! I left the dungeon and got a
mark of opening, but even this magic item doesn't work on the door! How
can I open this door?!? Please help! TIA!

Humm... It's been a while, but the Tower is the one with the "Zoo"
of various critters? If so, then down one of the corridors next to
the fire demon door, there are some cells with medusae-- one of them
should have the key.
Marks typically do not contain particularly high level (powerful/
effective) spells compared to the ones other items (rings particularly)
contain, so if the lock is a serious magical one, then marks are
likely to fail. (As a sorceror, I eventually made my own unlock
spell, which with a now greater than 100% chance of success, takes
out just about everything.)
