I am just about to enter the 2nd part of the game, and I know I will need to
visit Queen Catherine in Castle Gryphonheart.
However, I have already completed the 3 paintings quest, and the swordsmen
are hostile towards me!
Can I still get into the throne room to talk to the Queen?
Help appreciated
Thanks

Not until the castle respawns, which takes a while. I personally have
never seen it happen, in fact, but people say it does if you wait
long enough. But you are now in the timed part of the game, and it's
a good bet that it won't respawn soon enough. The Loren Steel quest
is not essential, but worth some XP. Probably your choices are:
Skip this quest
Back up to a game before you've made the guards hostile
Back up to a game before completing the dwarf quest, and wait for
the castle to respawn before completing it

Thanks Lynn.
How about if i go in invisible , will the throne room door still be locked,
or could i just fight my way through?

It's still locked.

Thanks, I think i will have to skip that quest, as it apparantly takes 2
years to respawn!

kill some villagers and visit a castle. spend a year in jail, when you
get out, it will have respawned. I never did it, but that's what
others here have said to do.

This will of course spoil your final score since score is
basically (total experience of all 4 characters)/(# of days to
victory) but should work.

It's OK, I have found that I can still do the quest, by going invisible!
The throne room door is unlocked after you talk to the ambassadors in
Harmondale.
