If you hit F5 and click where the little arrow should be next to STR when
you
gain levels, you can add 4-5 points to that attribute. Exit and then
repeat
until it is maxed out (100). You can do this for the others as well.
WARNING-
I don't know how this will affect Levels so you may be a Superhuman 1st
level
Cheater for the whole game.

Also note that this cheat will be fixed in the patch. I used it to push
up my luck and personality stats a few points.

How are you getting this "inside" information about what will be
included on the patch? This sounds like a more hopeful statement
than a justified one. Hopefully Bethesda is listening to this
group (which I believe they are, and shaking with every message, too).

I also hope Bethesda is lurking in this group. SHAME ON YOU
BETHESDA!!! I will most likely not purchase another pruduct from this
company. How does that saying go..fool me once...... I say most likely
because after MANY PATCHES the game will become playable thus making
it enjoyable, I would then purchase said game at a fraction of the
cost....which is about what it is worth now anyway. If this pruduct
were to be an automobile, would it not be recalled? It seems only in
this industry companies can get away with this (shody code) for now!

Christ! Inside info! I read all the stuff about the patch and the
attribute "cheat"/bug on the Bethesda support site on AOL. So sue me if
I'm just trying to pass along helpful info. Next time I'll keep my mouth
shut and let you max out your character and be stuck with a level 1
superman with 15 health points.

WHY DOESN'T BETHESDA POST THIS ON THE USENET GROUPS FOR *CHRIST*'S
SAKE (whatever that means). A lot of people aren't on AOL.

Personally I appreciated the info. Jonathan Backert seems to have
MAJOR "issues" with Bethesda, so take everything he says w/ a grain of
salt. From the posts, personally I don't think that he (or a couple
of others here) would have been happy w/ the game no matter what
was/is/will be done.

Keep them coming.

<laugh> I guess I do seem a bit offensive, but my only issue with
Bethesda is that, as anyone can objectively see, they don't do very
clean work. So, I want to tell everyone the facts so they don't
shell out $120 for a beta product.

OK, I work for ID.

OK, I lied.

My impression is that Mr. Bakert is unhappy because a product he'd
hoped would be better isn't--and that he couldn't believe a reasonably
well-known company, at least w/in the computer game industry, would
release a product that was so far below what he would consider a
reasonable standard, even given the weakened standards that exist
within this industry, as evidenced not only by DF's release, but by
the many invested & defensive responses that the game has engendered.

Geez what a long sentence. I guess it's kind of below a reasonable
standard, too. Ah well.

Mr. Bakert is hardly alone.

one slight difference.. if there's a bug in a game, you don't crash
horribly and DIE.

To call Daggerbug a beta is being kind. I have worked with alot better
alpha releases.

I think it is time for compter companies to lose their free ride. With
any other product you have some protections. While playing golf this
week with my lawyer he said he would investigate filing fraud charges
against Bethesda for releasing an unusable product.

Perhaps you're just sounding off, perhaps you really mean it. If the
former, then ignore the rest of this post. If the latter, consider
this:

The problem with the US legal system is that there are way too many
people who try to bring up trivial lawsuits. Because the courts are
so bogged down with the paperwork from matters that could easily be
settled by other means, the legitimate cases take far longer to get
through the courts.

In this matter, what are your "other means"? Simple, if you don't
like it, take the game back. The company fails to get revenue from
your purchase. Period.

Yea, another stinkin butt-pop lawyer, looking for a way to make a fast
buck. Screw you and your mouth-piece.

I think it is time for legal reform to prevent bullshit like this from
happening. Get your head out of your ass, the civil court system has more
than enough real cases like wrongful death/severe injury to deal with
let alone frivolous cases such as yours would be. Get a clue.

well on the other hand...

say you bought a toaster for 70$ at your local target.

every other piece of toast you toasted was burnt, and at the same time
caused your housing electrical circuits to blow.

and the store wont let you return it because you "might have copied the
internal diagrams"

its not as if you WANT to KEEP it.

i dont think you would like this much, either.

yeah, great.

all any of us need is for game developers to have incentives not to
even ship games at all.

if you are having THAT much of a problem with daggerfall, i'd suggest
that the problem is not with the software... put your golfclub down,
climb into your bmw, take your ass to the store where you bought the
game, get your money back, then climb back into your luxury car and
go see your therapist.

filing a lawsuit over a GAME. sheeit.

Not to mention what actually WINNING that lawsuit would do... why
would any company -EVER- release a product again?? If it doesn't meet
what someone else expects it to be, they would get sued. Give me a
break. If you dont like it, take it back, sit down, and shut up. If
enough people return the game, bethesda looses money, and they learn
to do better. It's called capitalism. Nifty, huh?

Many, many years ago I bought a Milton Bradley game. You might have heard
of it. It's called Operation.

It didn't come with all the pieces.

My dad took it back to the store and got another.

We didn't sue Milton Bradley.
