I haven't run into a money crisis yet. I have over 900k (not using money
cheats) I am at level 110. Some advice for saving money. Get one guy to high
level master merchant as soon as possible. Do all your buying through him. Get
all your characters to master merchant before you start power leveling.

This next one saves game time too. Wait until you have increased exp by enough
to jump at least 5 levels and preferably 10. If you have one guy go in to
increase one level as many days pass as if you had everyone go up 10 levels.

When you are ready to level. Go to south west side of city of whitecap, there
is a duper there in a house who boosts your merchant skill 8 points. This can
take you from spending about 4k per level per character to about 2k. That is a
savings of over 400k in 50 or so levels.

If you have a prefered set of NPCs then make a note of _houses_ with those
types in them. The NPCs in houses stay the same type. And they return to their
houses when fired.

For making money, give all items for selling to your best merchant. Enchant
anything enchantable before selling.

I am at level 19: thought I was free of money troubles - got
alot of cash from Icewind Keep, blew it on spells and then couldn't
afford to train! I think it was because I had just promoted two
characters. To train, I think I'm going to have to sell a lot of
redundant amulets. Where is the best place to sell stuff? I guess
New Sorpigal is the cheapest place to buy stuff; does it also
give you the highest selling price? What about magic shops? I have
Town Portal, so I can shop around.[I have a character at master
merchant 7 and he buys at value, but sells below value (what
skill is needed to get full value on sale?)]

I had a level 15 master merchant and he could buy/sell at any store at
value. But, you can get away with lvl 12 or maybe less if you only
buy/sell at the lower priced stores. A duper allows you to have an
even lower level and helps with training costs as well.

Using NWC, you can get 1,000,000 gold for an hour in Enroth.
So, you can get 1,000,000 gold after 3 hours from start of
the game.
