MM6 Hourglass of Time Quest

[Midnight Rambler]

I have successfully completed this "Fetch the Hourglass of
Time" quest given by Albert Newton of Mist. I have the Hourglass in
my party possessions. My problem is simple indeed. The game _will_
not recognize that I have it. I have tried to finish this quest no
less than 10 times using slightly different "Give the dang thing to
Newton" all which have failed. Does anyone have any idea on how to
finish this quest??

1 Hero 1 Warrior Mage 1 High Priest 1 Archmage
All party members are now 50 plus level. I had the original
Hourglass quest semi complete circa 38th level average.
What have I done wrong??

Here's a shott in the dark ...

Get rid of the hourglass and go to the enchanters hut, the guy who gives you
hints. God I forget where he is but hes on a mountain somewhere in a
valley, I think it was the Stone Keep map, it's one map away from the
starting village if you travel by horse and wagon.

Anyway, go find the guy and say "I lost it"

He will give you any quest items you may have had earlier but misplaced. So
as I say, drop the hourglass first, then talk to him and see if this works.

Right, this fixed the problem. I have successfully completed this
quest. The info is also located in the patch text file included when
you do a patch. I probably should have looked there first.
