Thanks for the help so far everyone. I'm playing this game again (during
STUDY-VAC) and going over all the bits I missed 2 yrs ago... too scared to
pick up Fallout2 or Baldurs Gate for fear of being too addicted... even
cleared Civ2, Alpha Centauri and HOMM3 off my hard-drive. Anyway, I
digress...

Made it to the bottom of the Dungeon of Death into the bowels of the Varn
mainteance area. Whatever I type at the Control Panel, I'm told I am a
'goober'. I presume there's a password that I need to get further...

I'm happy to get all spoilers... just killing time so won't be killing any
fun. Gotta admit though, it's enjoyable having an easy-going save-the-planet
type RPG like WoX to rest the brain.

I'm not positive, but I _believe_ if you type "COMPUTER" as the password you
are given the title "Super-goober". That's it. It's all a joke, just a dungeon
to play with after you've basically finished the game... just like in M&M6, if
you beat the entire (incredibly tough) Control Center and get to the very end,
you get the same title.

Yep -- you get this password from one of the floors in the Darkstone Tower.

YOU are a goober if you finished that dungeon! HAHA

Seriously, I think it was just a joke. The dungeon was brutally difficult
and when you finished it, you got really nothing worth having. There was no
loot that I can recall. So at the end of it, they called you a 'goober' for
being so dedicated that you actually *finished* the dungeon.

A "goober" is a peanut.

"Goober" was a character on "The Andy Griffith Show".

A "goober" is also slang for a ... well visit this site and you figure it out:

Well that definitely describes what you had to go through in MM6
in the Control Center to get the "Super-Goober" award. I
persevered in the Control Center trying pretty much everything I
could think of trying to kill the entire place - which is
brutally tough. (Mind you I'm the kind of twisted s.o.b. who on
his second game made a point of completely clearing
Dragonsand...no real point - just for fun)

Also, there was a computer down there that needs an access code (found
elsewhere). If you typed it in, you became a "super-goober"
I hope there is a goober award in MM7 also ;-) These are just silly.
