MM8 Temple of the Sun Question:

down the ramp to the room with the four pointed star. I can see other rooms
on the map and also treasure. How do I get into these rooms? I have gone
over the entire area many times, but i'm stumped. I have the guy with me
who joined me at the Necromancers guild and helped to destroy the skeleton
producer there. Thanks for any info. Don

As I recall there is a button on the wall that causes the star thing to
rise. Then if you approach it at the correct spot something happens
to let you in. Maybe you have to have a quest (to get something for
the necromancers)???

Those areas are closed to you because you have already destroyed the
skeleton producer. If you hadn't done that, then having what's-his-name
would allow you access to those areas so you could steal the Brazier for
the Necromancers Guild. (And doing that would "lock out" most of the
Necromancers Guild to you.)

On the upper level ther is a button under one of the torches. If you have the
perception skill, it is a red button.
Having destroyed the skeletal transformer, it may not be available to you. I
did a little experimenting in my game. I recovered the brazier first, then went
over to the Necromancers Guild and was able to destroy the skeletal
transformer. After that, the guild leader's door was locked. After restoring an
earlier game, I delivered the brazier, and found I could still clear out the
lower areas of the guild, but the skeletal transformer could not be destroyed.

Right. Also, Eclipse wasn't there when I tried it.

In the various permutations I played, Eclipse was not there a couple of times.
At first I thought it might be in a different location depending on the path I
choose, but decided there is a random factor to its presence in that one chest.
I could find no mention of another location on any of the web pages or news
group postings. I started saving before opening the chest so I could restore
and try again if it wasn't there.
