Stonekeep: I'm stuck on the gates of the ancients!

Help i'm stuck on this level....i've seen some other people post the same
question....so basically i have the 3 keys wolf, eagle, sturdy key....now i
have no where to go....i've been to every pit i can find but there is no
exit, i've seen the duck and since they say it is a secret room with a
scroll i can ignore that....so where should i go next?
HELP!

This confused me for a while, too. There is a pit in the NE part of
the map that drops you directly onto a pressure plate. Falling on
the plate opens a corridor directly to the North. As soon as you
step off the plate, though, it closes back up. Just walking back
over the plate doesn't reopen it, which is why I missed the thing for
some time.

By the way, try casting a healing spell on the duck...

If you have the orb, what you have to do is drop into the pits and look
for the sign on the wall that says 'Do not proceed without the means to rise
above your station'. Go west from that point and use the orb to rise up.
(Make sure you are facing south, so you can exit the room.
