Here are some details on the guild skill bug, to aid NWC in patching
it, and everyone else in exploiting it in the meantime... ;)
If a character has bought all availble skills in a guild, entering the
the guild gets the "Sorry, seek elsewhere" message. However, the
character can still purchase skills at normal cost, even those which
are not normally available for his/her class, by clicking on that
message.
Which skill is purchased depends on its location in the list for a
"generic" skillless character entering the guild. For example, the
list in Blade's End in New Sorpigal is "Sword, Axe, Spear, Staff,
Leather" in that order. Clicking at the top of the "sorry" message,
just under "guildmaster" will purchase sword skill for _any_
character. Clicking a little below that area buys axe skill, and so
on. You should hear the "chink-chink" sound if you hit the proper
spot, and you'll notice your money decreasing.
You apparently can't use this to purchase magic skills, since the
magic guilds always have "Buy spells" available for every character.
With plate skill for every character (IIRC, fourth from the top in
Berzerker's Fury), your CDSS party will be having a swell time in the
endgame. :)
Thanks to Thomas Van Wormer for pointing out the original bug and Ron
McPherson for posting it on his web page.

How about cleaning up the spell inventory first?

Are you sure it's a bug and not a standard easter egg like all the other
easter eggs in the game? :)
Steven White
It's a bug.
