Far Cry 2 - Act 3 "meet reuben at the marina bar" BUG

There IS a bug that Ubisoft is NOT acknowledging and many others are
experiencing. It is in Act-3 where you get a phone call to "meet
reuben at the marina bar" (aka Mike's Bar at the marina).
Also, the aka for this bug is the "88% bug" because it occurs when the
game is at this point.

The main-mission marker is there. The bug is you cannot get into the
bar.
So far, the Forum has no workable fix for the PC version.
Anyone in the wider community have a solution?

Wish I could help but I didn't see this bug. In fact I thought it was a
remarkably bug-free game. I'm playing on Vista 64. No help I know.
Any similarities in PC spec with others having the bug?

You should post this to c.s.i.p.g.action. This is a RPG NG so you'll get
more responses if you post to the action group.
I had no problems with the game at all. I was amazingly bug free for
such a huge game.

same sequence as the first 2 (UFLL missions then APR missions) in each
ACT. This time I did the APR missions first. But this should NOT
have 'broken' the game play IMHO. If the game must be played in a
specific sequence, players should not have the option to do otherwise.
Also, form other forum posts Ubisoft support replies that this is a
'hint' or game-play issue and will not reply.
The problem is caused by the mission-marker being at the marina bar
but you cannot do what you are supposed to do (get into the bar). The
implication is there is something you are to do before you can get in.
Players see this as a bug because we try everything we can think of
(including reading the Journal to see what we were told to do) and we
see no leads to what we else we need to do other than go to the bar.

I'm having this same issue with no known workaround.

I consider my experience as poof there IS a 88%-Bug. Started a new
game after having the 88%-Bug and this time the problem did no show
up. Got to the end with no hitches.
The upshot is that after you get the call to meet at the Marina Bar
(aka Mike's Bar at the Marina) you should ALWAYS be able to enter. No
tricky work around needed.
