Ok, so how does automapping work? I've looked in the manual, I've
looked in the quick reference, and I've twiddled with just about
everything I can find on-screen, but can't seem to find the map. The
box claims that W7 has autmoapping, have I been led astray, or am I just
cluless?

There's a mapping kit near the start--you must get it first.
& u need one in ur party with the mapping skill

automapping: Yes, there is automapping. But, in order to use it you have
to get a map kit (you can buy em, find em, and steal em). Then, once you get
the map kit. Give it to the party guy with the mapping skill and USE the
map. Voila.. :)

BTW... the map kit is in a chest in the woods (at the beginning in the game)
