[spoiler for fairly late in the game]

I'm trying to complete the pedestal quest, and I did write down
which statue goes where. I put the one in Bootleg Bay in place:
no problem. In the Mire I'm supposed to use the Wolf. I take
out the Wolf, click on the pedestal with it. The pedestal
redraws as pedestal+Wolf, BUT the Wolf also remains on my cursor.
When I put it back in my inventory, I have a Wolf, but the Eagle
has disappeared. Hmmm. I reload and try again, putting the Eagle
on the pedestal. That doesn't seem to matter; whichever statue I
use the pedestal has a Wolf on it, but it's the Eagle that disappears
from my inventory. Hmmm. I drop all the statues except the
Wolf first. This time the pedestal won't take the Wolf. Hmmmm...

So what should I do to complete this quest? Go on with the extra
Wolf? Do the pedestals have to be visited in some order?

It's a minor bug. Just proceed with the rest of the pedestal quest...
somehow things will sort themselves out by the time you reach the last
pedestal. :) There's no particular order.

Don't take it out

Leave it in the inventory of the player

and just click on the pedestal

it will get the right one (put the statues in one player inventory and
select the player prior to clicking on the pedestal

steve

I did the same thing with the memory crystals

saves lots of hassle

the exact same thing happened to me. I completed the quest, so don't
worry.

what happens is that when you eventually get to the last pedestal, just
push the space bar. You don't have to hold the item, or even highlight
the appropriate character. it takes your leftover wolf, and the eagle
appears on the pedestal.

when you get back to the guy in blackshire, he gives you the experience
points.

at least you didn't leave the statues in the chest, like my husband did.

You see, it's like I told you, you can get more with a kind word and a
2x4 than
you can with just a kind word.

Ugh. I think this is what has happened to me. I left the statues there
until my party was tough enough to place them all, but when I got back
there the area had respawned and they where no longer there. The guy
in the house still says I need to place them, but they are not there.
The seer does not have them either.

Is there any way for me to complete this quest or do I just have to give
up on it? I take it completing this quest is not crucial to the plot?

Cheers,

I haven't done that quest yet, but I heard that it wasn't essential to the
plot, but I don't know.
The only thing I can think of is to go to the Seer. He may give you the
items that are missing. He does that sometimes. Click on "I lost it" and
see what he says.

as far as i know, there's no way to complete the quest if you never had
the statues.

If you picked them up and replaced them in the chest, the seer might
give them back if you select "I lost it"

good luck

I don't know if I missed something. Sometimes I visited Twillen and the
quest was noted in my quest book, but I never had any statue. The Seer
is no help, he always replys "You never had it." Is Twillen supposed to
give them to you or how do you get the statues?

He tells you that the statues can be found inside of a chest in front of
his house in Blackshire. If you haven't picked them up yet, they are
likely to be still there.

Good luck, R.

The statues were in a chest just outside his home.
