BGII: Jan Jansen and special equipment

A lot of people have used Jan and I only used him during the 1 day Jaheira
was gone. Does Jan continue to make his own equipment/weapons? How do you go
about this?
He ended up using all of those skull things (accidentaly, I didn't notice he
was firing them)for his crossbow but I didn't know how to get him to try and
make more. Can he make better stuff as the game goes on or do people use him
solely because of his thief skills?

Hello - to get Jan to make more special ammo u have to use his special
abilities icon. I don't think his special items get better whenever he levels
up. IIRC, I just gave him a better Crossbow and Bolts. G

He can create more ammo as his special ability.
I used him for his thieving skills, and because he was a secondary
spellcaster.

Why on earth would you want her back? Nalia is basicly the exact same
thing, but better, and won't be lagged way behind in experience. She was
my primary spellcaster the first time through.

Now that I got ToB I'm playing with Imoen, but I'm also using Shadowkeepr
and various tweaks to hax0r all the characters as I want them (Aerie is
currently my primary spellcaster, I got rid of her multi-class status, and
Imoen is back to being a thief).
