I've killed all the enemy besides the guard who is near the mage. If you
kill him, you die.
I tried to flush him out with a poision gas cloud, but that didnt work
either. If you lead him away, and capture the cloak, it still doesn't
finish the level.
Can anyone help??

hmmm...dunno for sure, but i thought i read a msg somewhere that said
that there is a bug in the game on this level....best to check the
game company that released it site for a patch or work-around.
I am stuck at the same point and I believe it to be a bug...it just
has to be because I've tried too much crap to get it to end right.
You can't even cheat your way out of it! Here is what I tried:
1. Luring the axeman away and healing the fallen mage.
RESULT: Fallen mage doesn't attack either me or the axeman until I
strike him first and game doesn't end unless axeman dies.
2. Killing the fallen mage before the axeman.
RESULT: You get his crap and then if you manage not to kill the
axeman, the game doesn't end.
3. Killing the axeman after all else is killed before doing anything
to the fallen mage..
RESULT: Game ends, the dialog occurs between you and the would be
hero to your party but you lose after the dialog (this sounds like
what was supposed to happen but the logic in the endgame is wrong.)
4. Killing everything but axeman and mage, then fireballing all the
buildings until they were destroyed.
RESULT: Once the axeman dies you lose.
What I did about it was get on the net and look for cheats and I typed
in:
#Chicken enables cheat mode
and then
#victory ends the level in victory
The #victory cheat I totally guessed at and it worked! The level
ended in victory but...
You need that mage in your party like he was meant to be...think back
to the dialog... I played many levels beyond that and if you choose
to do this to bypass the error you are gonna need hirelings! To make
up for a missing mage you prolly will need up to 2 groups of soldiers
on some of the levels beyond that. Make sure you save IN TOWN before
you venture off to each new level and restart it if you misplanned by
hiring more dudes.
Another undocumented cheat on the page I was looking at was:
#summon hero mage this is almost right, sorry I guessed
The 'mage' part is not exactly right but this is what happens when you
type it in: You get a new "mercenary peasant" with a hero's cape on.
When you end a level with these peasants they turn into new heros in
your party. You'll notice when you get to town!
Hope this helps...

I just read in a magazine that it is out in Russia, but that the version
released was only an alpha or something. Regardless, it seems to be out over
seas somwhere.
Full version was released in Russia as Allods, uh, but it was in
Russian, so I doubt these posters are playing that released version.

Any idea when it'll be released in the US? I saw a German
retailer website which mentions October, hopefully, the US
release won't be far behind.
Later...

It should be out in October in North America as well - it's very close.
By the way, if you ever have a similar question, we maintain a pretty
comprehensive release date schedule (which also has convenient links to
all the official sites of the publisher/developer/game) at this url:

Sorry for the blatent self-promotion, but I really think it's a great
tool.
The day before you posted this, Vault Network reported that Monolith CEO Jason
Hall said the game had gone gold and would be on store shelves on Oct 12.
We have a release schedule as well, but for the up-to-date news, Vault Network

Interesting--you know a workaround for a bug in a game that hasn't
been released yet, but you abhor game piracy?
