Okay, Baldur's Gate runs very well on my Pentium 200 (Classic) w/64MB of
RAM. I have a 10GB HD so I did the full install with the full cache size.
The game runs good in the woods, but when I hit a city with a lot of
movement it slows down a bit. I have played for around 20 hours (real time)
with ABSOLUTELY no crashes. However, I went into the Baldur's Gate config
and noticed you could increase the cache size. I did this thinking it
would help increase game speed in towns. I set it to 500 MB. Started the
game back up and got 3 crashes in 15 minutes. Set the cache size back to
240, and no crashes since. All I was doing was trying to enter the Inn in
Beregost. The Jovial Juggler Inn. Every time I would try to enter it would
crash as soon as I hit the doorway (with the 500MB cache size) 3 times, 3
crashes. Under the smaller cache size, went right in, no problem.

Can anyone explain this? Shouldnt a larger cache size help?

Can you run the game without using CD1 when it loads?¿? If yes, how do you do
that?¿? I made a full installation (2.5 GB) and set the cache size to medium.
When the game loads it's asking for CD1. I've been messing with the .ini-file
but it doesn't work although I've copied CD1 to another directory and pointed
the file at it. Anyone got a crack or something?

Please send your answer in an e-mail too...

And if you've got a crack please mail it...

ThanX...

Sounds suspicious to me. What is so difficult about putting in a CD? Maybe
you installed your friends entire copy of BG or something eh?
