Ultima Underworld I

I'm playing Ultima Underworld I, and I've explored most of the first
level, but I've thus far been unable to get into the Ahnk (sp?) temple
on the first level. I read on this group that there's a "trick"
to getting in, but what is it? None of the keys I've found work.

If someone could post or email me the answer, I'd appreciate it.
Also, is there a UWI FAQ around anywhere? I've tried a couple
of sites, but haven't found anything.

Try Games Domain for the Underworld FAQ/Walkthru (I don't have the URL in
front of me but it gets posted on this group about once an hour). As for your
current dilema, there is no key that will open the door to the first ankh.
The "trick" to getting to the shrine involves a lot of platform jumping above
some water in the lower left-hand corner of the map. There is a switch in
that section that will open the shrine door. Operate the switch as you would
a pull chain. Good luck.

You don't use a key to get to the Ankh, you pull that chain on the wall
oppisit of the Door to the Ankh.
