The perk does not state that the damage loss would be so steep. I may have
to scrap several hours of playing just so I can deal out some reasonable
damage.
Only doing 2-5 points damage with either a 10mm handgun, Spear, or
Sledgehammer when 11 is possible with a 6 strength is a serious penalty to
pay.
I took a disk editor and cranked up my strength to 8-9 to see if I could
offset this, but I am concerned that the adventure may creep along at a
snail's crawl if I cannot deal out sufficient damage.
Just thought I would report my findings.

Again. Same results.
Of course, consider this.
In Fallout 1, I would take Finesse, and run around sniping people's eyes. I
would crit about 98% of the time.
In Fallout 2, I'm STILL using a friggin' spear as the most effective weapon
(despite having a pistol). And doing about 4 points of damage except when I
actually DO crit.
Finesse, for me, has always been a tough trait (even in Fallout). The
only way to really work with it, IMO, is a lot of agility (for APs) and a
lot of targeted shots. Besides that, it was always just a problem.
My Fallout sniper was a Finesse guy, but he was also a diplomatic
character- so he didn't have to fight much until he had about 150% Small
Guns or so.

IMHO finesse in Fallout 1 was too powerful. I had a unarmed character with
finesse and much luck, always hitting in the eyes. With finesse and good
unarmed skill I killed every enemy with one hit - a bit boring in the long
run.
So I think the decision to weaken that trait to be a good one.

I have the finesse skill as well, I have 102% unarmed and I can do up to 6
points of damage with the strong kick but I've never gone higher without a
critical hit (and then the max has been 12). I think I could do even better
but my strength is only 5. Do you remember how you found the location to edit
your characters strength. If so please let me know where that was or what you
looked for to find it. Thanks.
