I'm a single-player gamer. I loved the single-player map that came
with DS, but once it was done, that's it. I screwed around with the
multi-player map for a time, but without the ability to save my game
or pick up additional party members, the game got boring fast.
I recently played through the single player map again, and while it
successfully blew away a few days of my life, it was like reading a
book again. Pleasurable, but nothing like the first time. I knew
what was coming - no surprises. And simply bumping up the difficulty
doesn't make a game more fun for me.
When the game was new and people were talking about this issue (no
random SP maps), the standard answer was that the editor was coming
out and there would be more maps than you could shake a dead cat at
very soon. Well, "very soon" has come and gone, and I don't see
anything. I see hacks to turn MP maps into SP, but they come with
plenty of caveats. "Don't do <xyz> because it might crash the game."
So has DS become nothing more than 2" of space on my bookshelf?

And there's one called (I think) Hopeless, which is supposed to be just
that: very hard.
From what I've read, it's a challenge to build a DS mod, requiring some
coding skills, so it may be a while before you see many of them surface.

I'm 99% sure that YesterHaven is a multi-player map.
It was originally, but there's a patch (or an edited version) that changes
it to single player. :)

I remember reading a few weeks ago that Microsoft was having a module
contest and that winners of this contest were going to get to fly out to
Redmond and get a week of training from the Dungeon Siege developers
themselves on how to build mods. I'm hoping that if this goes as planned
that there were be some seriously talented designers who have the knowledge
and hopefully have been incentived enough to put out some quality mods for
the game. We'll see! I haven't sold my copy yet... :)

The website doesn't indicate that it's been released in UK/USA yet.
I bought it last week (UK).
