You lose perception when you use the healing herbs (can't remember exactly
what they are called.) It is written in the item description I think (or at
least implied.) The point comes back after a while (as you found out.) No
big deal, but that is the main reason I never used them.

Obviously you have been doing drugs. Clean up your lifestyle and try to stay
away from the Mentats.

Mentats and Drugs aren't that bad ; )

I found you can turn your character into a Rambo if you can find enough
drugs. Just pop some pills before a mission and you'll be kicking butt all
the way

BTW, can you overdose on drugs? Haven't tried... but my character was fine
after popping pills for quite a long while.

You can get addicted to the drugs, and IIRC, you can die or kill with the
Mega stim paks because you lose health points after they wear off ( takes a
large amount for you to die).

This can even used as a stategy/exploit (depending on your personal
viewpoint) for killing key NPCs without making anyone hostile towards you,
even if you to it in plain sight... (I once took out that one mob boss in
New Reno right in front of his bodyguards that way, without getting into a
fight...)
