Ive been checking out hte American Online are Origin maintains, and John
Watson, the main dude behind U8 (check your credits) has spent much time
addressing peoples complaints (95% of the messages there are complaints
so l don't know where the figures for the U8 poll are so balanced) and
so far the things he has had to say about U9 sounds really promising!!!
He even took the time to answer my posting that the game was far
short...but basically the jist I have gotten is that they plan to make U9
much bigger, more side-quests, less arcadish (sounds like they will keep
the arcadish elements but allow you a way to think your way around them)
stuff, and try to make the items and such much more interactive (i liked
being able to bake bread in U7 okay?!?) and push less technology improvement
and work more on story!!! This l think is promising and encouraging! Well
yes he also said it would be CD only, and maybe even SVGA. He said they
have already started some basic coding of the engine.
There you go, from the horsees mouth (but not smith's)
Oh... I think I am going to cry!
THis is wonderful! I only hope Origin goes through with it.
>There you go, from the horsees mouth (but not smith's)
U9 would near ULTIMAte perfection if Smith were in it (hint hint)

I don't know why the figures for U8 poll are so balanced either... perhaps
the satisfied gamers just don't speak out as much?

Hmmm... I think that advancing from VGA to SVGA (if true) is a big push in
technological advancement.

Heh, heh... that's a good one.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
He called this "push less technology improvement"??? Maybe he was
thinking the basic requirement is a Silicon Graphics Indigo and then
changed his mind?
