BioWare is touting that Mass Effect 2 is the best game they've ever
produced, which is pretty strong words coming from a developer who made
Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic and the recent Dragon Age:
Origins.
"We're so proud of the game that I'm not worried at all," Cho explains.
"[BioWare boss] Ray Muzyka was talking to me about this; of all the games we've
made so far this was able to encapsulate everything we've been trying to do
in games and present it in such a digestible form.
"Each game we've put out has been great, each game has flaws, where as this
one represents the pinnacle BioWare experience. If you're going to play one
BioWare game ever in your life, this is the one to try."
We're write this off as "New Game Hype", until Mass Effect 2 proves it. The
game comes out January 26, 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PC.
makes me sad to think they consider a shooter their best game

Yep, they are just whoring themselves to drum up sales. Just like the
developers did with OFP:Dragon Rising and we all know how that one
really turned out.
Big difference: Mass Effect was a major success, and the preorders for ME2
are through the roof.

That doesn't change the fact they are whoring themselves.
OH NOES! THEY'RE ADVERTISING THEIR OWN GAME?!??!
CALL THE FUCKING BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In my experience, when artists say it is their
best work it does turn out to be very good. I
have seen this with some rock bands and I
am very glad I have the albums they hyped.
One caveat, though, is that the material is
not received as well by the general public.
They just don't have the ability to appreciate
it and it is often a last work by the artist,
possibly due to this. On the transferability
of application from rock bands to video game
studios I am not certain, but my intuition
is that there is a strong correlation.
