(1) On level 4, is it possible to get into the vault in the knight's
section?
(2) Also on level 4, past the place where Rodrick was (before I killed
him), there is a maze of tunnels. A secret door in this maze leads to a
small chamber with a sturdy, locked door at the end of it, and two
switches at the side. I have tried every combination of switches I can
think of in order to open the door, but nothing works. How do I get the
door open?
(3) Still on level 4, what is the deal with the bullfrog puzzle? The
only thing I've been able to do in the area is to cast elevate (I'm
playing with a mage) in the southeast corner to get into a tunnel hi up
in the wall, and I found some stuff in there.
(4) I really don't seem to be able to find much of anything on level 7.
My mana runs out when I go there, and there just isn't very much I can do
without the medallion of passage, which I don't seem to be able to find.
(5) I found a scroll somewhere that said something to the effect of
"Blade is in Southeast. Behind wall, secrets are," on level 3. I went
to the bandit's area and did indeed find a secret area behind which were
a worn broadsword (or maybe a longsword), a broken axe, and a broken
sword. I heard that the Blade of Cabirus was broken up into two
parts. Are either of these them?
(6) What do the dragon scales do?
(7) How about the giant gold nugget?
(7) So far, I have (I hope this is complete): The Book of Honesty, the
Wine of Compassion, the Standard of Honor, the Gem Cutter of Coulnes, the
Sheild of Valor, and the Taper of Sacrifice. If I'm just about to go
into level 7, are those the only Talismans I should have?
I am sure there are more questions I have, but those are the only
ones I can think of at the moment. Many thanks to anyone who can help me
out.

Ok. Hoz-about a few hints...
->(1) On level 4, is it possible to get into the vault in the knight's

Yes, but only if (when) you are a knight.

There is a key, but I don't remember where it was. You need to move the
switches in the proper order to open the door.
->(3) Still on level 4, what is the deal with the bullfrog puzzle? The
->only thing I've been able to do in the area is to cast elevate (I'm

You did it the easy way. The hidden tunnel is the only thing there. If
you got to it without figuring out the puzzel, you don'w need to.
->(4) I really don't seem to be able to find much of anything on level 7.
->My mana runs out when I go there, and there just isn't very much I can do

Something (or someone) on that level drains all you're mana. It
sucks, and I haven't figured this out yet.
Medallion, we don't need no stinking medallion. I just killed
everything there.

No. Tehre is another secret (think far SE) area of that level. It took me
a while to find it also.
->(6) What do the dragon scales do?
Don't know yet.
->(7) How about the giant gold nugget?
It weighs you down. (so far)
That's about all I can help with. I havent gotten much farther than you.

You need to become a knight, and complete several quests for their
leader. I think you have to bring back the golden plate and the writ of
someone-or-other. The only things in the vault, though, are some
ordinary weapons, and a full set of plate armor (real heavy, and not all
that protective).

Try looking at all the gravestones around the knight area. The dots on
the "i"s will tell you the proper combination. I believe the golden
plate is in the area past the door. The writ that you need is in the
shrine in the troll area.

You don't need to solve the puzzle. It's pretty annoying, and it just
allows you access to two tunnels off that room, one visible, and one
hidden by an illusionary wall. I don't remember there being anything
terribly important in either of those areas, so this is really something
you can skip.
>(4) I really don't seem to be able to find much of anything on level 7.

Kill all the guards. Some of them should have keys that will allow you
to open all the porticullises and the minimum-security cells. If your
character is too wussy to kill the guards, then I think the medallion is
in a little mazy area just east of the entrance to level 7. To get past
this level, I recommend going into the Chasm of Fire splitting the level
and killing all the fire elementals from close range. They're pretty
weak up close, since they can't throw their fireballs at you. There are
various doors off the chasm which will allow you to get out. Having a
couple of flying potions can be very handy for getting to hard-to-reach
areas around the chasm. Also, look for secret doors, there are a lot on
that level.

Wrong place. Look for a place in the southeast of the level where there
is a patch of vine-covered wall all by itself among bare walls (I think).
Click and drag on the vines to lift them up, which I think reveals a
secret door, behind which should be a lever that opens a door to the
south of there.
>(6) What do the dragon scales do?
You can get them made into fire-protection boots on level 5, if you also
have some spider thread with you. Talk to one of the ghouls, I forget
which, I think he wants food in exchange. These boots are almost
essential for levels 6, 7, and 8, especially 7, where you can't cast fire
protection spells.
>(7) How about the giant gold nugget?
Give it to the dwarf king in exchange for a magic axe. This was pretty
useless to me, since I had no axe skill.
>(7) So far, I have (I hope this is complete): The Book of Honesty, the

The gem cutter isn't a Talisman. Give it to one of the knights (the one
who expresses a need for such a thing in your conversation) to find out
where the Ring of Humility can be found. You probably should get the
Sword of Justice and the Cup of Wonder, too, so you don't have to go way
back up later on. The parts of the Sword are on levels 3 and 5, and you
have to take it to 2 to be repaired; the Cup is on 3, but you have to
talk to one of the ghouls on level 5 to find out how to get it.

You can't cast them on level 7, but you can cast on level 6 or 8, then
run onto l7 and the spell will keep going.
No, there are other ways to get down to level 5, where the catacombs are.
You just have to cross the lava river to get into the ghoul area from
the rest of the level. So, like I said, solving the annoying bullfrog
puzzle is entirely unnecessary.

Actually the catacombs are accessible from the next, ghoul level. There is a
hidden door in the NE.

Not right. One part of the sword of justice is in the catacombs
You get into the armory when the head of the order allows you to.

There is a clue to combo. A message from someone (the guy giving you
all the clues to the "puzzles") indicates that perhaps you should
search around near the graves I think. The clue is very very subtle.
Amazingly, I figured it out with no help, and with little effort
(it jumped out at me). Most people however, never notice it and
have to rely upon hints.

There are just two openings in there you can get into. One is
visible, one is hidden by an illusionary wall. The idea is that
you manipulate the switches so that you have things to jump from.
I could never jump correctly through the hidden tunnel, so I
just used levitate for that. I don't think these are vital to
the quest though. There's an opening to the northeast and
southeast.

The first guy you meet should be able to tell you the general area
of the medallion (ie, the southeast I think). I had to jump across
from the entrance to the walkway to the east. Then the tunnel near
the guards there leads to a cave area, and I *think* it was in there.
Anyway, you don't need the medallion I think, it just cuts down on
combat (I'm not sure about the final guard though).

It would show up as a sword blade I think. The secret room is behind
some ivy, and you will get a message that you moved the ivy aside.
I think that just opens up another area (water will drain away in
an area).
> (6) What do the dragon scales do?
I never used them, but they are very very useful (I did it the hard
way). They can be made into boots, so someone has the capability
of doing this (before level 7).
> (7) How about the giant gold nugget?
Just a lot of money. The dwarf king will like it. I don't know
if it does more than just giving him a lot of money though.
Also, I never found a use for the gold coins, which were so much
heavier than normal coins.

You should get the sword. I don't think any are on level 7.
