Those Swords are quite nasty - I could not defeat them without running
away and healing/resting.

But there is a way that will probably only need you to drink 2 cure
serious wounds potions in fight:

Use the Disarm / Improved Disarm Feat.

You will need 13 INT to chose those feats for your fighter.

They will simply vanish when you disarm them - and it seems as if it
is easier to disarm than to hit them, btw!

Greetings,

Michael

Might be a problem with this, though.

Since the weapon is the only actual part of the creature model, once you
disarm the creature I don't think it's possible to hit them anymore with a
fighter, since you must *click* on a creature to attack (this is also why
so many people love the Pixie polymorph spell option in PvP - the pixie
is so small and moves so fast that it wins a lot of battles simply because
the other player can't click the mouse to attack) and there are no
more visible parts of the creature to click once the weapon is gone. It
would seem the only way to kill them at that point would be area spells ...

Why kill them?

The xp isn't that important; the aim is to get at the chest. The
easiest way is to swallow a potion of invisibilty and simply walk past
the buggers :->.

Even easier is just run :)

That's what I did: ran for the tomb, grabbed the items and Stone of
Recall'ed out. Took about 10 seconds :)

Cheers,

They die if you disarm them - and there are no creatures behind, just
some funky magic swords that live and slice. :)
