I don't have any answers Marc, but this area was so frustrating that I
packed the game in at that point -- I just hate games that have "step
on this part x times to open something that is not visible on your
screen" -- I put up with this stuff in Arena cause the rest of the game
was really good. Exile II became to complicated for me.
You want all three northern portculli to be open at the same time,
at a point when you can walk into the secret doorin the east wall.To make
this possible, you need to step on the northwest corner an _odd_ number of
times.
The best thing to do is just figure out the effects of a few spaces,
and then figure out the combination that will open the gates. What you figure
out what the spaces do (there are only 3 possible effects) it's
quite easy.
Or, if you're just sick of it, leave the dungeon, sail past, take the curse,
and use the editor to heal yourself and restore your food (the unregistered
version can do that).
