I noticed that at the top of the dragon(?) tower in Kriegspire there's a
door, but I get the 'nothing here' message when I touch it. Does it have
a purpose other than to be annoying like some of the doors in Silver
Cove?

Someone posted on another forum, that this was to be part of a quest, that
was dropped from the released game.

So... This is not one of the towers that needs to be deactivated to
complete the quest? Apparently I'm still missing a tower or two, becaue I
can't finish the quest, and I've been going nuts trying to deactivate the
one in Kriegspire.

Time to do some leg work to find the one I actually missed, then...

I think the original poster meant the doors on the second level
of Kriegspire castle. One of the door leads to the Bow master.
I wouldn't be too worried about the other 'nothing here' door
there. There are quite a few of these around, especially in Silver
Cove and Free Haven. The fellow from EDO (George I think) posted
that these doors are just that, 'nothing here'.

Later...

This quest is actually a piece of cake if you have a water magic master.
All the towers that need to be deactivated are in the towns that you
can get to with the Town Portal spell. Should take you about 2 minutes
now 8-)

When I passed that quest I did not even visited Kriegspire. All Towers I
can remember:

New Sorpigal
Mist
Free Haven
Northern Frozeland = Whitecap
Silver Cove

If you do the Caverns of the Dragon Riders, you'll find out that they
disabled that tower in an attack, but they lost so many people, they were
depending on the keys you've rescued from Icewind Keep.

All the towers you need to do are in Town Portal towns.

Add Blackshire to that list.

I've finished MM6 some time ago but I'd still like to know if the
door at the top of Kriegspire Tower does anything. It seems very odd
to have it there for no reason ??????

There are six towers to deactivate. New Sorpigal, Free Haven, Silver
Cove, White Cap, Blackshire, and Mist. The tower in Kriegspire does not
need to be deactivated.
