Hello guys..

I'm playing an older game Eye of the Beholder II - Darkmoon, and I'm
stuck on a level where I can't open a door that seem to be the only exit.
The level
is after the big fight with skeleton warriors, after which by destroying a
wall section
you find a staircase leading to a level where after entering the corridor
the doors
close behind you - meaning you can't get out.On the level you can't rest the
party
because they are haunted by "visions o f death and destruction".
I'm in a room with 9 pressure plates formed in a square (3*3), on the
wall there
is a writing that says "You must leave many things behind". Now, I've tried
pressing
them all at once and it doesn't work. Number of possible combinations for
the plates ,
due to not knowing number of plates that have to be pressed, is 512. That's
a lot!!
This is the same spot where I got stuck a year ago, and 2 years ago when
I bought
the game. So I'm kind of desperate what to do

Hope I'll get an answer to that puzzle

I haven't played this game but it seems that you must leave something on each
pressure plate. "Leave many things behind" Good luck

IIRC, the solution is to leave something (rocks are good for this) on each
of the four corners, plus the center stone. As long as these five plates
are down then the door in the alcove will stay open.

There are some nasties through that door... a lot of them. I found a good
tactic was to place crap on the four corner plates, then stand on the center
plate (facing the door it opens). As soon as a nasty or two come through, I
step back and let the door shut. That way I'd only have to deal with 1 or 2
at a time.

Good luck on what is still one of my favorite CRPG's of all time,

Yes, it is a lot. I think you were supposed to leave stuff on x
formation:

XOX
OXO
XOX

and that opens the door or something.

I don't remember any clue in the game that this is how you should put
the items, but that was one of the first "formations" I could think
of, and it seemed to work. Quite a dumb trial-and-error "puzzle" if
you ask me.

Ps. I bet www.gamefaqs.com has a full walkthrough for the game.

Put things on the four corners, then walk onto the center plate so
that an X is pressed. Be warned there's a big fight coming, if you
step off the plate the doors'll close again so you can rest.
