One question however ( and I'm hoping someone with a good memory will
remember the game well enough to help! ):
I'm rapidly approaching Brilhasti but my spell casters are always out
of spell points. The only way to recover them seems to be to sit wait
for them to ( very slowly ) regenerate outside, during daytime. The
"duotime" bard song helps alittle but it still takes AGES. I end up
spending 10 minutes in the dungeon then 3hrs waiting for the spell
points to restore above ground.
In the c64 version there were plenty of harmonic gems to be found
which restored spell points, but in the PC version they seem to be
extremely rare - i've only found 3 so far in random encounters and i'm
nearly ready to fight brilhasti.
Anyone know that can be done about this problem?
I recall there being some sort of bug that prevents the items from
being triggered (?)

I think I even had to make an extra character just to hold all my
gems....

Grab yourself a mage staff. It lets your spellcasters regenerate their
spell points 1 pt per round of combat. Then you can park outside the
dungeon and fight 1 ladybug for about 50 rounds and get your points back.
Save any harmonic gems you get from here!!!!! The last fight is
impossible without tons of spell points, and you won't have the chance to
stick your head above the surface to get points back.
Yes, this bug makes the PC version much much harder than the C64. On the
other hand, Vortexes don't actually *attack* you in the PC version, while
they lay the smack down in the C64, so maybe it evens out.

*Cringe* I remember those vortexes - nasty, nasty stuff. Still, I
managed to charm one and add it to the party (fun fun fun!).
Charming Brilhasti and then returning to the dungeon and letting
brilhasti ( who reappears ) fight himself is also pretty funny...
What i've done is found a character editor and given myself lots of
harmonic gems - i'll just have to resist the temptation to give myself
lots of stoneblades, titan suits etc :)
Actually, I'm thinking about downloading a c64 emulator and playing
the c64 version...

I remember the abuse they dished out from when I played the game about age
16. When replaying it on the PC recently, my first encounter in the evil
dimension was with 3 groups of 4 vortexes, and I about peed in my pants.
Then they just sat there, spinning prettily, and let my monk beat them up.
It was quite a relief. It also means that your Bard can sing something
*other* than Sir Robin's Tune in that dungeon.

Hehehe... will have to give it a try.

Ah. Yes, that solution will work, too.

Probably a better game that way.
