There really is no reason to get past them, but to get past them cast
Teleport or Etherealize.

If you are talking about Darkside of Xeen, the guy that sent you is
in Castle Kalindra, Second Floor.

You have to kill barkman first, in order to that, you have to feed
the skulls in the "branches" (Near the top, I think there are four of
them, 2 on each side). Feed them until they disapper, and on the
lower 4, feed them till you hear a beep. Then have everybody drink
from the fountions in the juice rooms. Then attack barkman.

Just Keep on paying him the money.

First of all, there is no pass for Blackfang, and you get the pass
to Olympus from the Dragon Pharooh in the Great prymaid, in the
desert in Darkside of Xeen.

Fire and air is smoke, earth and water is mud, air and earth is dust(?),
and I'm too tired to think of more.

smoke, dust, mud(?), steam. There are four merchants.
