I have been looking for hints at artifacts for months now. The
only time I ever got anywhere with one I met up with a guy in a tavern.
This guy sold me a map to the map to the place where the Auriel's BOw was.
I have the bow, but now I'm looking for other artifacts like the Ebony Sword.
BUt I'm not getting any clues at all to their locations. Do you find
clues in taverns or can you just find one by walking into any old dungeon ?
If someome could give me some clues to finding more artifacts it would be
helpful...
Also if anyone could give me a list of all the artifacts that would be
helpful too. Thanks in advance.

As previously stated, you have to put your artifact in for repairs. To
do this, you must have "used" the Artifact in the use menu at least once.
Then go out and look for rumors. When you find one you like, go to the
inn it says to and buy the map. Go pick up your artifact, and go after
the new one. You can repeat this ad nauseum...One suggestion for a must
artifact is the Oghma Infinium, which gives you 50 bonus points to add
to your stats, and then disappears. Hope this helps.

I retrieved King Orgnums' Coffer. What a dud! It was reported to yield a
King's ransom in gold. It gave approx. 13 - 93 gold pieces per day. I make 10
to 100 times that amount per night, sacking the wealthy homes in town. When I
read the reply to this note I realized unless I did something, there would be
no other artifact rumors. The Weapon shops wouldn't repair it. So.......I
dropped it next to the 'pitiful beggar'. New rumors of artifacts are beginning
to happen. BTW, how does the artifact Ebony Sword differ from my Ebony
longsword of Agility?

I did the same thing, but then I heard that you can only find one artifact
per game. A tip in Computer Gaming World stated that you
could get around this by putting your artifact in for repairs, getting a hint
about another one, and then picking up your original artifact. I tried this
but couldn't get it to work (I was told that my artifact didn't need repairing;
I have a ring so maybe with a weapon or armor artifact it could work. Maybe
you should try it since you have a bow).
It's too bad that they limited it to one artifact per game because hunting for
artifacts would make the game more interesting in my opinion.

I have a few questions about artifacts in Arena:Tes..

As someone else stated in a reply, you can only have one artifact at a
time. Repairing may allow you to get another one, or if you really want
a different one and that doesn't work, you can drop the bow.

While you hold an artifact, you cannot get clues to another artifact.
Since you have Auriel's Bow, you must leave it in a store for repair
and then go out into the street to get information about another
artifact. Once you have the information from another character in a
Tavern, you can go back and get the bow before beginning the quest to
find the next artifact. You can leave up to 8 items for repair in any
one shop, so if you have two artifacts, after the above exercise, you
can leave both, then get information permitting you to find a third
artifact, etc. If you have more than 8, you can leave the balance in
a second shop.
The main requirement for this is that you have enough funds to leave
the items for repair <grin>....
Good luck....

Thats Ebony BLADE (rivals the Oghma Infinium for best artifact). Its
basically an ebony katana of lifesteal (i.e. when 'used', it will cast
lifesteal until its charges run out). The really cool thing about the ebony
blade is that it also has an innate ability that isn't charge based (i.e. will
never run out). When using the Ebony blade, any damage you do will be
channeled to you to replenish your hit points up to your normal maximum.
I think of this as a 'double damage' ebony katana. Not only do your enemies
suffer damage, you are also healed simultaneously. (Means less need for
healing potions/spells, and free arm for shield).
Happy hunting,
Soon Lee
