Hey all,

I've gotten to the third level of the white castle, but I can't seem
to get past the wraiths. They're everywhere! I've even gone so far
as to set the monsters option to "Wimps" and they're still kicking my
ass. Any suggestions? (Any useful ones, that is...)

TIA,

Bairman

Either two emerald swords, or preferrably a Valaen's cube. A Valaen's
cube makes this level much easier. One use(black cube) to blast the ghosts,
another use(white cube) to replenish mana. You can do it with the swords
but you'll find yourself running out of there to rest a lot.

With the updated patched game, you need to do the third level before you
go to Yvel or else you lose your cube. In the previous version, you could
duplicate cubes as much as you wanted.

the only weapon usefull against ghosts is emerald sword (you can found 2 swords
of this type in the game). You can also use a "valeon's cube", which is better,
but you may use it before going to yvel city (else, you lose the cube).
good luck

Unfortunately, I had to go the emerald swords route -- I didn't have a
Valaen's Cube. So I continued on and retrieved the Crucible of Faith,
but now I can't seem to locate the Altar de Blanca. There is one door
left on level 1 that I haven't been able to open yet, and I'm assuming
that's where the altar lies. No keys of any kind nor the lockpicks
have worked. Any more suggestions?

I hate replying to my own posts, but this is an update...

I've found a couple of sources of information on the 'net that have
shown me that, indeed, the Alter de Blanca is beyond the door on Level
1 of the White Castle that I can't get open yet. It appears to need a
Mystic Key to open it, but none of the various ones I've tried have
worked. Does anybody know how to get past that door? If it requires
a specific Mystic Key, where is it found?

TIA,

According to my notes, you need a yellow-gray key to open that door. They
can be found in two places (the other yellow-gray key is used to open the
door leading to the third floor):

- In the room on the second floor with lots of fireball shooters and plates,
in the NW corner.

- In the so-called "Darkroom" which is just east of the stairs leading down.
Walk in, close the door behind you, and press the button.
